Dale Osterle![]() Dale Osterle grew up in New England and has a special affinity for winding paths, trees and woods. Dale's landscapes are romantic and expressionistic portrayals of places where she has lived or traveled. After visiting Provence in the late 1980's she started a series of landscapes using strong, simple lines and sweeps of bright color, often in a long horizontal or vertical slice. Osterle's etchings are done with fine layers of oil paint and then overlays are done by hand with brilliant colors of thick enamel and oil paint. Thus the images are editioned prints as well as being unique because of the hand painting. Dale received her BFA in apparel design and illustration from The Rhode Island School of Design 1960. Ten years later she became interested in etching and printmaking while studying at Northern Illinois University. Osterle is represented by galleries and art consultants in eight states. Among her corporate collectors are IBM, McDonalds, Borg Warner, Zale Corporation, TRW, Chemical Bank and Chubb & Son Insurance.
