![]() See Rose Danish- born artist Gerda Nietzer, who has gained a remarkable reputation for her floral paintings in Europe, is currently making her debut in America. Nietzer has also become highly acclaimed for her stone lithographs (in limited edition). This is due to the fact that they capture a depth of vibrant color and detail seldom seen. These stone lithographs were created by an old- world Swiss printing company coveted for its esteemed quality of printing. Nietzer's floral images are both voluptuous and handsome. Achieving a high degree of sophistication by creating realistic flora upon contemporary backgrounds. Her focus is on bud, blossom and fruit as the culmination of the plant. Creating art that is botanically scientific and aesthetically artistic. Nietzer follows a timeless tradition of of masters known for their images of flowers; Merian, Durer, Monet, Matisse, Nolde and O'Keeffe to name a few. Born in 1943 in Give, Denmark, she holds a B.A. in Painting, The Art Institute of Bremen, Germany and a degree in Photography, Technological Institute Copenhagen, Denmark. Nietzer has enjoyed 20 one-woman shows in Germany, Denmark and Chicago, USA. |
