"It seems to me that man has definitely lost the measure of things. We live in an age in which the super-abundance of information distorts our knowledge and our sensitivity to events. Despite this fact, I believe in culture and, specifically, in art as they are the only alternatives for survival and transformation of mankind nowadays.

Every creative activity involves two different qualities: on the one hand, civilization -the product of the influence that culture and learning have had on us throughout the centuries, and on the other, intuition. It is through intuition that we will be able to find some new and positive knowledge, a kind of philosophical and ethical knowledge which will give a new sense to everything.

My etchings are a way of reflecting on life and I try to do this through a total communion with nature. At present, I live and work in the mountains, in Galacia, surrounded by centennial oaks and chestnut trees. It is in the middle of this landscape, with all its mists, forests and popular legends that I create contact with nature. I do not want my work to resemble nature, though, but rather, as Cezanne did, to achieve a sense of harmony with it."
