Original Vintage Travel poster to Mont Blanc Chamonix for The Paris-Lyon-Mediterranee Railroad by Hugo d’Alesi in 1905. This Art Nouveau French travel poster takes you  on a hike with the couple up to a vantage point overlooking the town of Chamonix with beautiful Mont Blanc in the background. The painter and graphic artist known as Hugo d’Alesi was born Frédéric Alexianu in Romania, but took French citizenship and worked mainly in Paris. He produced many tourism posters, for railways and travel companies, around the turn of the century. Hugo d’Alesi is considered to be one of the most important travel posterists of the late 19th to early 20th centruries.This is an Original Vintage Poster. It is not a reproduction. It is archivally mounted (linen backed). It is in very good condition with 2 small inconsequential ink cracks, one at the base of the trees and one in the female hiker’s skirt.
