Created for the Twentieth Anniversary of the re-establishment of the Olympic Games in 1914.
Depicted by three young athletes in classic Greek togas. One riding in on a horse with a golden trophee in his hand and the others leading the horse with a bough of roses, bathed in the glow of the sun. Elzingre employs an upward view to depict the strength and heroism of the winning athlete.
This stone lithograph printed by Affiches Atar Geneva, Switzerland. Elzinger worked for Atar from 1906, creating posters and illustrating children’s books.
This is an Original Vintage Poster. It is not a reproduction. It is in A condition, archivally mounted (on linen) with one ink crack near the horses mouth. We guarantee the authenticity of all our posters.
